Thomas Pobojewski (Xi Class, 02’) currently owns and operates a real estate sales company that focuses on investment properties, and helping people buy & sell real estate in South Western Ontario. He has won numerous awards including 2020 REP Magazine Top Realtors In Canada & Royal LePage Chairman’s Award for sales achievement. Since graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2005 with a degree in Honours Business Bachelor & Administration he has continued to give back to the Kappa Mu Foundation by organizing alumni events and raising donations. His passions include spending time boating with his family and cheering for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Ryan Brown (Wilfrid Laurier, Kappa Mu '10) is the CEO and co-founder of Salient Energy. His company is developing a new type of battery designed to enable the widespread adoption of renewable energy sources like wind and solar. Their zinc-ion battery, which was first revealed in the prestigious scientific journal Nature, has attracted international attention as one of the most promising energy technologies under development.
Trevor Zeyl (Mu ’04) is a corporate and securities lawyer at global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright LLP and is Co-Founder of GetQuorum, a full-service electronic proxy, voting and governance notice software platform used by condominiums and member organizations. Trevor’s law practice focuses on public and private mergers and acquisitions, securities law, special situations (proxy fights and hostile takeover bids), and general corporate and commercial matters. In 2018, Trevor was named one of the winners of The M&A Advisor’s 2018 Top 40 under 40 Emerging Leader Awards.
Martin Chan (Alpha Omicron, ’15) is a host on Fairchild TV, the Largest Chinese network in Canada. Martin is also a nationally qualified men’s physique athlete and is currently preparing for an upcoming physique show this summer. Martin recently received an invitation to act in Hong Kong for TVB, which he will be pursuing once he completes his degree.
Jeff Alpaugh (Rho Class '07) is the CEO and co-founder of Jeff Alpaugh Custom - The World's Most Dangerous Dress Shirts. JAC is a Fredericton, NB based clothing company where shirts and suits are custom in fit and design. JAC recently appeared On Dragons’ Den episode (S12E7) where he received an offer from two of the Dragons. JAC is currently raising capital to improve their e-commerce operation and open their second store in Waterloo, Ontario. Jeff also served in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Infantry Officer for 10 years in Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. He credits his brand and leadership style to both his time in the Army and the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
Dastiger Khan (Alpha Omicron ‘15) is the CEO and Co-founder of Guard-Ex. Guard-Ex is developing a device that can screen for drug related impairment in any given situation. Unlike other impairment detecting devices, Guard-Ex looks at physiological signs and uses machine learning to accurately identify key indicators exhibited by an impaired individual. Dastiger has pitched on Dragon’s Den where he secured the investment of five out of six of investors. However, he recently closed an investment of $1 million from Robert Schlegal. Guard-ex will also be working with local law enforcement agencies in Ontario to conduct pilot programs in which they will be testing and using the device by the end of April. Dastiger was the VP-External Relations at the Kappa Mu Chapter and played as a flanker for the University of Waterloo’s rugby team.
